Attendance at WHS
Showing Up Matters!
There’s one daily habit that can set students up for success: showing up at school in-person as often as possible. When students attend school in-person, they’re more likely to develop their whole selves - personally, socially, academically, and emotionally. Your attendance matters!
Excusing an absence or tardy
Within 48 hours of returning to school:
- Email the attendance office directly with the date(s) & reason for absence(s) (most efficient option).
- Write a note with date(s) & reason for absence(s) and turn in to the attendance office
- Call the attendance office and speak to an attendance secretary.
- Unacceptable reasons will not be excused and will be noted as “Not Excused”.
Mid-day Check out Process
If a student has an appointment mid-day either:
- Arrange ahead of time if possible by one of the above methods OR
- Call the attendance or Main Office and a secretary will help to locate the student and call them from class.

Hay un hábito diario que puede preparar a los estudiantes para el éxito: asistir a la escuela en persona con la mayor frecuencia posible. Cuando los niños asisten a la escuela en persona, tienen más probabilidades de desarrollarse integralmente: personal, social, académica y emocionalmente. ¡Tu asistencia es importante!
¿Cómo puedo justificar una ausencia o tardanza?
Dentro de las 48 horas de regresar a la escuela:
- Envíe un correo electrónico a la oficina de asistencia directamente con la(s) fecha(s) y el motivo de la(s) ausencia(s) (opción más eficiente).
- Escriba una nota con la(s) fecha(s) y el motivo de la(s) ausencia(s) y entregue a la oficina de asistencia.
- Llame a la oficina de asistencia y hable con una secretaria de asistencia.
- Las razones inaceptables no serán excusadas y se anotarán como "No excusadas".
Proceso de salida al mediodía
Si un estudiante tiene una cita al mediodía:
- Arregle con anticipación si es posible por uno de los métodos anteriores O
- Llame a la oficina principal o de asistencia y una secretaria ayudará a ubicar al estudiante y llamarlo de clase.
